Vettel eyes a new F1 chapter with Aston Martin

Former world champion Sebastian Vettel, a former world champion in Formula 1 racing, is looking forward to making up for his disappointing career with his former Italian club Ferrari, on his new career with British Aston Martin.

“It’s also a new season for me,” said Vettel, 33, who owned 4 world championship titles in the drivers’ category between 2010 and 2013 with his former Red Bull team.

“There is an ambition to win, but we are here to win,” Vettel said.

Vettel shares the team with Lance Stroll, son of Lawrence Stroll’s patron Aston Martin, in the car called AMR21, which was unveiled in an online presentation on Wednesday.

The Aston Martin team is returning to Formula 1 racing as a full team for the first time in 61 years.

“It is a truly iconic automotive brand, and it is an honor to bring Aston Martin back to the top of motorsport – where it belongs,” said Ottmar Istsavnauer, team manager who is also CEO.

The pre-season tests are taking place in Bahrain from 12 to 14 March, before the opening race of the season, which is also taking place in Bahrain on the 28th of the same month, as the Australian Grand Prix, which was scheduled to be held a week before this date, was postponed due to a pandemic novel coronavirus.
