Today, Friday, official US data showed that the number of US jobs increased more than expected in February, in light of the decrease in new cases of Covid-19.
The US Labor Department said today that the number of jobs in the non-agricultural sectors in the United States rose by 379,000 last month, after increasing by 166,000 in January.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected a job increase in February 2021 by 182,000.
And American jobs increased more than expected in February, with the decrease in new infections, the acceleration of immunization rates, and the American government providing additional funds to mitigate the repercussions of the pandemic.
Although the unemployment rate fell to 6.2 percent last month from 6.3 percent in January 2021, it remains underestimated due to people who mistakenly classify themselves as “working but absent from work.”
