The satellite of the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology “Shaheen Sat 17” is a new generation of small-sized satellites, devoted to imaging the Earth and tracking ships from low orbits, and includes a telescope payload with high accuracy for imaging, and a payload for tracking marine ships, and features an imaging accuracy of up to 0.9 Meter, weight not exceeding 75 kg, and dimensions of 56 x 56 x 97 cm.

As for the CubeSat satellite of King Saud University, it is the first satellite launched by the university at the level of Saudi universities, with a size of 10 x 10 x 10 cm, and weighs one kilogram, and it is an educational project that aims to prepare and qualify engineering students and the university in the field of designing and programming satellites.
