The case of “Tiran and Sanafir” … Saudi minister: Mohammed bin Salman did an unnatural act, and Sisi made it easy after Hosni Mubarak evaded

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Saudi Minister of State for African Affairs, Ahmed Kattan, revealed new details on the issue of transferring ownership of the islands of Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia, and the role of Mohammed bin Salman in this case and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

“History will record what Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz did in the return of these two islands to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with firmness and strength, he did unnatural things,” Kattan said in an interview with Gulf Rotana channel.

The Saudi minister continued, saying: “The issue was not easy, but the one who facilitated the matter was His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. He met with senior Egyptians in the presidential palace and talked with them in detail about the truth of this matter,” he said.

On the same issue, Kattan added, “The matter does not need to be asked whether it is Saudi or Egyptian. If we were on un-good relations with Egypt and submitted a complaint to the United Nations, we would get these two islands, and this was a suggestion from Dr. Mustafa Al-Feki, so I told him: How, Doctor Mustafa, will the Kingdom and Egypt accept complaints from each other at the United Nations?

And the Saudi minister added, “What my lord Prince Mohammed bin Salman did will be remembered by history, because this topic has been for many years since the days of King Fahd and King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and President Mubarak evaded this matter … whenever it opened with him, he would say:” Present Early after him, “… until Prince Mohammed bin Salman came and spoke with His Excellency the Egyptian President about this matter with all transparency,” he said.

Kattan mentioned that a 91-year-old Egyptian officer said that King Farouk ordered him to go to Saudi Arabia to meet King Abdulaziz and request these islands.
