Sun Downs finish the series .. Mazembe falls for the first time continental at home since 2009

South Africa’s Sun Downs stopped a historic series of defeat for Mazembe at home, after beating him (2-1) on Saturday evening.

Mazembe suffered its first home defeat in a continental game since October 2009, stopping a streak of defeat that lasted for 76 games.

Sun Downs led by Peter Shalolili in the 66th minute, before Tresor Mboto equalized for Mazembe.

In the 90th minute, left back Lily Lakay scored the winning goal for Sun Downs and the goal of ending Mazembe’s historic series.

Sun Downs raised his score to 9 points at the top of the group, while TP Mazembe stopped at two points.
