Saudi Arabia … Closing 182 mosques after recording Corona injuries among worshipers – Covid-19


Today, Monday, the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance announced the temporary closure of 12 mosques in four regions, after 15 confirmed cases of Coronavirus were recorded among the ranks of worshipers.

The Ministry revealed that the total number of mosques closed within 20 days amounted to 182 mosques, and 168 of them were opened after the completion of sterilization, and the completion of readiness in the framework of ensuring the safety of those who visit the homes of God. According to Okaz newspaper.

The ministry indicated in a report issued today the distribution of closed mosques, which are: seven mosques in the Riyadh region, in which seven injuries were detected, three mosques in the Jizan region, six cases of infection were detected, a mosque in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region and a mosque in the eastern region, with two confirmed cases of Coronavirus.

The ministry also indicated the opening of 10 mosques, six of them in Riyadh, a mosque in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, a mosque in Jazan region, a mosque in Asir region, and a mosque in the northern border region, after completing all precautionary measures of sterilization and maintenance.

At the end of its daily statement, the Ministry called on everyone to implement all precautionary measures and cooperate with it in strictly implementing them for the safety and health of those who visit the homes of God, and stressed the importance of cooperation in monitoring violations and reporting any shortcomings or laxity by contacting the Beneficiary Service Center 1933.
