Yesterday, the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs closed 10 mosques, temporarily, in five regions, after 10 cases of Coronavirus were confirmed among worshipers.
And the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced, in a statement, that “the total of mosques, which were closed within 26 days, reached 218 mosques, of which 196 were opened, after the completion of sterilization and the completion of readiness, in the context of ensuring the safety of those who visited the homes of God.”
The ministry stated that «the closed mosques included: three mosques in the Riyadh region, and two mosques in the regions of Qassim and the northern and eastern borders, in addition to one mosque in the southern province of Dhahran in the Asir region».
The ministry indicated that eight mosques were opened, including three in the Riyadh region, two in the eastern region, and one mosque in the northern border regions, al-Baha and al-Jawf, after completing all precautionary measures of sterilization and maintenance.
On the other hand, the numbers announced by the Saudi Ministry of Health yesterday revealed that the number of people infected with the new Corona virus, which causes the disease (Covid-19), continues to rise in the Kingdom during the past 24 hours, reaching 384 cases, half of them in the capital, Riyadh.
And the Ministry announced, in a statement yesterday, that the total number of new infections with the Coronavirus in the Kingdom increased to 379,92 confirmed cases, an increase of 384 infections on the day before yesterday, which reached 375 cases.
However, the ministry said that “309 new recoveries were recorded, bringing the total cases of recovery to 369,922 cases (98% of the total recorded injuries).” The Ministry also announced the registration of five new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 6,519 deaths.
The total active cases reached 2,651 cases, of which 509 are critical cases.
