Saudi Arabia and America … the history of the relationship and the stalkers!

The headache that afflicted everyone with what the media and “social media” was overflowing with, the moment Biden took control of the White House, made observers raise the ceiling and expect the worst for a rupture between Riyadh and Washington, as the big headline revolved around the future of this relationship. Of course, before and during it, panoramic cartoon scenarios were presented that reminded us of the (Indian) Bollywood scenes, because they were often neglected.
In my estimation, apart from emotion and excitement, what happened was a whirlwind in a cup, because in the end, only the correct one is true. The discerning observer knows that there has always been some political blackmail and overbidding that Saudi Arabia is exposed to from time to time in this or that country, especially in the event of any controversial file, where it is exploited in any way. It is true that Saudi Arabia is destined to be an influential and pivotal country in the region and the world, but at the same time, as a result of that position and weight, it has become a political card that some who have a specific agenda adhere to on the basis of “not love for Zaid, but hate for Amr.” It is undoubtedly an influential paper and its value is great, but Saudi Arabia does not bear responsibility, and is not a party in any way, and yet its name is used at the moment of need in the world of bargaining and bargaining from friends or enemies with or without intent or without its desire or even its approval. Saudi Arabia is absent from the scene where its presence is used, negatively or positively, to settle the account of this against that or to favor one party over another, although it has always warned and confirmed its total rejection of inserting it or the names of its leaders in the internal affairs of this or that country, given that it has no camel or camel in it.
Dependent on objectivity, there is fear and concern among some in our region about the changes and reforms taking place in the Kingdom in the era of King Salman and under the leadership of the Crown Prince, because it means an upcoming Saudi dominance and a political, economic and military presence that poses a threat to the plans and influence of some regional countries, and thus represents concern and inconvenience to them, and the solution It is in distorting the current situation of Saudi Arabia, fabricating stories and fabricating to mislead public opinion, exposure to leadership and the use of a scarecrow of human rights and exaggeration of individual issues because they are gaining attention and interacting with the West, and thus it is the entrance to abuse, deliberate distortion and avoidance. Note, for example, in the case of Jamal Khashoggi, may God have mercy on him, King Salman not only stopped the accused, referred them to justice and tried them, but felt that there was a need to restructure the intelligence to achieve its goals and to ensure that what happened did not recur, but you do not find such talk in the media of the left, because his concern is only Scoring points against Saudi Arabia. Frankly, they are propaganda campaigns that focus on pressure, blackmail, and the intersection of interests of groups and countries in the region, as they were funded and contributed by traditional and electronic media, which explains Riyadh’s rejection of any matter that would affect its leadership, sovereignty, and independence of its judiciary.
The US intelligence report was issued, and the clouds faded with it and the dust settled, the dreamers were shocked, and what happened in their imaginations did not materialize, and their hopes were disappointed. The issue is when it relates to links and relations of states, the dealings of institutions and the future of peoples and the security of the world. For muckers, stalkers, and opportunists.
It should be noted here that the CIA’s handling of the file resembled many mistakes, in a short and sterile view. It is shameful for such things to come out only to satisfy the left wing of the party, which is unacceptable and inconsistent with international agreements and conventions. In addition, the administration did not find in the intelligence report anything to help it make correct decisions. On the contrary, it hastened to take unsuccessful decisions, especially with regard to removing the status of terrorism from the Houthi group.
However, whatever it is, we must admit that Riyadh and Washington have managed during the past decades to overcome many periods of tension, apathy and crises, because it was unacceptable for the two countries to neglect the strategic relationship for about eight decades. Seventy-six years have passed since the historic meeting between the founding king Abdulaziz and former US President Franklin Roosevelt on board the “Quincy” cruise ship, and it was a historic moment that established what followed.
The relationship of Riyadh and Washington does not await signs of goodwill or public relations, but rather is based on joint and sustainable institutional work to achieve the goals for a long time. Work, coordination, joint dialogue and bilateral cooperation are continuous at all levels, and it is not necessary for everything to be announced. Communications are continuous, schedules are crowded, committees do not stop their work, and the headlines of the yellow newspapers do not necessarily reflect the reality of the relationship today. Yes, unsuccessful interpretations occurred, but correcting the path is what is required, based on what we hear today of new statements that contradict what we heard in the first weeks, and this reflects the importance of the relationship between the two countries and its consolidation. Nevertheless, we do not expect that the relations of the two countries will always be rosy, and the views are not necessarily identical, but it is important for the American administration to read the scene well and listen to its allies and perceive the risks, and to distinguish between ally and enemy, and not to repeat the mistakes of the Obama administration, by formulating A policy that serves the security and stability of the region.
