The Saudi Ministry of Commerce announced the seizure of a violating Chinese online store targeting the market with fraudulent goods, after monitoring its use of a single email for 184 websites.
The Saudi newspaper, Okaz, reported that “the follow-up and monitoring of the Ministry of Commerce for violating electronic stores led to the monitoring of a violating Chinese online store targeting the Saudi market with poor and fraudulent goods and fake offers, and using social media platforms to promote and advertise these goods, while not implementing the option of return and exchange to the consumer and its services. After sales and delusions of buyers about the quality of the offered products.
She added that the ministry, in coordination with the competent authorities, blocked 184 websites with different names that belong to the store after monitoring its use of a single e-mail in all of these sites.
She pointed out that the online store had begun to advertise its goods in the Arabic language and in the Saudi riyal currency through one website, and as soon as it was blocked, it created 5 other websites that were pursued and blocked, and then established 184 sites with the aim of attracting the largest number of buyers in the Saudi market and misleading the regulatory authorities.
She pointed out that the aforementioned store displays, through its multiple locations, various types of poor and adulterated consumer goods, including electronic devices, perfumes, cosmetics, bags, shoes, clothing, personal care devices, and others.
