Borussia Dortmund qualified for the German Football Cup semi-finals, by defeating their host Borussia Monchengladbach, 1-0, on Tuesday, in the quarter-finals.
Dortmund owed the credit for this victory and qualification, to English winger Jadon Sancho, who scored the game’s only goal in the 66th minute.
The meeting saw Borussia Dortmund suffer a painful blow, injuring his left defender, Portuguese international Rafael Guerrero, when he tried to clear a ball in front of Mönchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram in front of the goal, and the referee dismissed Dortmund midfielder, German Mahmoud Daoud, in the 90th minute.
