MOSCOW (Reuters) – The head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund said on Monday that the number of people who received two doses of the (Sputnik V) vaccine for Covid-19 in Russia has reached 3.5 million.
Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, which is responsible for marketing the (Sputnik V) vaccine globally, added that this figure places Russia among the first five countries in the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines, along with China, the United States, India and Israel in terms of complete vaccination of individuals.
He said that the number of Russian citizens who said they had received the two doses of the vaccine is equivalent to about 2.4 percent of Russia’s population of 144 million.
European Union data showed that was below the average of 3.8 percent across the European Union and the European Economic Area.
