Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was transferred yesterday, Monday, from King Edward VII’s private hospital in London to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, a distinguished cardiac care center, for further examination related to a pre-existing heart problem, and for treatment of an unidentified and unrelated infection. She has Covid-19 disease.
His hospital stay of 14 nights is the longest he has needed, although Buckingham Palace has said he feels comfortable and is responding to treatment.
His younger son, Prince Edward, said last week that his father was feeling much better but the palace says he is expected to stay in hospital at least until the end of the week.
Queen Elizabeth, 94, and her husband, Prince Philip, had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
