Fathi surpassed her compatriot Saad Lamjarred with this achievement, who was aspiring to achieve the title of the first Arab-African artist to achieve one billion views through a video clip for his famous song “You are a teacher”, for which he launched the “billion campaign” to win the title.
The video clip of the “Dilbar” clip by singer and dancer Nora Fathy, who has Moroccan origins and works in Indian cinema, reached one billion viewers, breaking records at the time, as the clip exceeded 21 million views on the first day of its release.
Nora Fathy celebrated her achievement at the T-Series office in Mumbai as the first Arab-African woman to achieve this milestone. She posted photos through her Instagram account and wrote: “What an amazing surprise..Thank you guys!”
She added: “Today she became the first African Arab woman to reach a billion people on YouTube dilbar! I could not have done that without your love and support .. Forever grateful … and more to come. ”
The song “Dilbert” appeared in the movie Satyameva Jayate, directed by Melab Zafiri in 2018, in which John Abraham starred, while Nora Fathy inflamed the audience with her skills in belly dancing, making the clip the first Indian song to achieve such numbers in India.
The clip of the song was written by Taneshk Bagchi and sung by Neha Kakar, Asis Kaur and Dafani Bhanushali.
It is known that the success of the international version of the song encouraged Noura Fathy to take a step towards singing for the first time with the band “Fnaire”, who had rewritten the lyrics of the song “Dilbar” in Arabic and the Moroccan dialect.
Saad had just launched the “billion campaign” through his social media platforms, calling on his fans to help him achieve this dream, especially since the current number is close to achieving it.
The song “You are a teacher” by Saad Lamjarred reached the number of 904 million views. The clip was released on his official YouTube channel in May 2015, while the clip “Dilbar” was released in July 2018.
Saad Lamjarred was born in April 1985, in Morocco, within an artistic family, and his star began to rise in 2007, following his participation in the talent program “Super Star” in Lebanon.
He scored his biggest success with the song “Al Moallem” that he released in 2015, and the last songs he released were just as well received in the Moroccan media, and the radio channels continued to broadcast his works.
