Mwatana told the story of her recovery from blood cancer despite the failure of the marrow transplant that she underwent, after her marrow returned to work normally.
Yumna Al-Ayadi explained, during her interview with the Saudi channel, today (Wednesday), that she discovered the disease by chance after going to the hospital for medical examinations as a result of high white blood cells.
She explained that the tests confirmed that she had leukemia, and she was transferred from Tabuk, the family’s residence, to the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh to start the treatment journey.
She added that after she took a certain number of chemotherapy doses, they decided for her to have a marrow transplant, but there was no match between her marrow and any of the family members.
She indicated that it was decided to perform the operation by taking marrow from her brother, although the match was only 50%, and after a while it was confirmed that the operation was not successful, but a miracle happened that her marrow returned to its normal state.
