Khamis Mushait tops Saudi Twitter after an explosive “drone” interception

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The hashtag “Khamis Mushait” has been the most prominent topic on which activists of the social networking site, Twitter, have interacted, after the “Support for Legitimacy” coalition in Yemen announced the interception and destruction of a drone launched by the Houthi group in Yemen.

The spokesman for the “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen”, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, said that “the joint coalition forces were able – praise be to God – this morning (Thursday) to intercept and destroy an explosive drone launched by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia in a systematic manner. And deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian objects in the city of Khamis Mushait. ”

Al-Maliki continued, according to the official Saudi Press Agency, stressing that “the joint forces command of the coalition takes and implements the necessary operational measures to protect civilians and civilian objects in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.”

It is noteworthy that the coalition published a video clip, on Tuesday, showing an operation to intercept and destroy a “booby-trapped” drone launched by the Houthi group in Yemen towards the Kingdom.
