Moroccan singer Noura Fathy became the first African Arab to break the one billion viewership barrier on YouTube.
Fathi surpassed her compatriot Saad Lamjarred with this achievement, who aspired to achieve the title of the first Arab-African artist to achieve one billion views through a video clip for his famous song “You are a teacher”, for which he launched the “Billion Campaign” to win the title.
The video clip of the “Dilbert” clip by singer and dancer Nora Fathy, who is of Moroccan origins and works in Indian cinema, reached one billion views, breaking records at the time, as the clip exceeded 21 million views on the first day of its release.
Nora Fathy celebrated her achievement in Mumbai as the first African Arab woman to achieve this milestone, as she posted pictures on her Instagram account, and wrote: “What an amazing surprise .. Thank you guys!”
The song “Dilbert” was featured in the movie “Satyameva Jayati” by Melab Zafiri in 2018, in which John Abraham starred, while Nora Fathy inflamed the audience with her skills in belly dancing, making the clip the first Indian song to achieve such numbers in India.
