Google (NASDAQ 🙂 Finance has added cryptocurrency rates to finance.google.com. The section called “Crypto” now appears in the “Market Comparison” category, along with the equity markets and traditional currencies. The section provides key pricing information for many cryptocurrencies, including BTC, Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin () and Bitcoin Cash ().
Google Finance users can now track the performance of many cryptocurrencies with just one click. Alphabet, Google’s parent company, also owns the YouTube video platform – which has consistently angered cryptocurrency users by blocking educational content and news, often seeming random. Cointelegraph and CoinDesk, the two largest cryptocurrency news posts, were both exposed to the comment, which was later canceled after the video streaming platform confirmed they had not violated YouTube’s terms of service.
The cryptocurrency market has attracted mainstream interest over the past year, as institutional and corporate investors have begun investing in the asset class. Their participation helped unleash the cryptocurrency market value that crossed a trillion dollars in January. Cryptocurrency market capitalization will eventually peak north of $ 1.7 trillion in February before seeing a decline. At current values, the digital asset class is worth over $ 1.4 trillion.
