The American company “Facebook”, the giant of social networks, revealed a new weapon in its plan to dominate the world, by launching a new light version of the size of not more than 2 megabytes from the application of the famous “Instagram” platform for sharing digital photos via smartphones.

The new “Instagram Light” application was developed by the same team that developed the light version of the “Facebook Lite” social network application. The new version repeats the strategy of unloading the application’s functions to cloud services instead of running them on smart phones, according to the “Register” technical website.

Facebook removed gifs and augmented reality filters specifically for faces, but said it retained features that provide fun with minimal data consumption, such as gifs and stickers.

The American company mentioned India and Brazil among the markets targeted by the new application, which it launched in 170 countries around the world, as this is in line with its plan to attract more users in the developing world, in order to maximize its user base to increase its revenues from advertising and e-commerce.
