Facebook is overcoming a major technical problem

WASHINGTON – Facebook said on Friday it had overcome a technical problem, after more than a million users around the world complained of crashes in the company’s Instagram app.
It came on the “Instagram” application in the form of a banner “The post cannot be updated” before returning to normal after less than an hour.
The problem has also affected Facebook-owned WhatsApp and Messenger services in a number of countries.
The three Facebook apps were unable to determine the extent or duration of the outage.
A Facebook spokesperson said afterwards that the company had managed to fix the bug that disrupted access to its services.
The website Downdetector.com showed that nearly one million users reported problems using Instagram, while about 20,000 reported problems with WhatsApp.
Site Downdetector monitors crashes by compiling case reports from several sources. More users may have experienced service outages.
Users took to Twitter to raise their complaints about the major holidays.
