Emirates News Today, the Emirates Group announced the appointment of Steve Allen as Executive Vice President of dnata, the leading global provider of air services.

Allen will handle all of dnata’s business, which covers ground handling, catering and travel across six continents, as well as managing the Emirates Group’s relationships with its subsidiaries, including MMI, Emirates CAE Pilot Training and Premier Inn Hotels.

Steve Allen will continue reporting to Gary Chapman, Group Chief of Services and dnata, until the latter’s retirement at the end of March, when he will report directly to His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Airlines and the Group.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “Steve Allen, through his various administrative tasks, has achieved outstanding results, demonstrated excellent leadership skills, and has greatly contributed to the success of dnata and its clients. Continuously distinguished services to its customers according to the highest levels of quality and safety in all its activities.

His Highness added: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gary Chapman for his commitment and achievements over the past three decades, and wish him a happy retirement.

Steve Allen joined the Emirates Group 12 years ago and has assumed various operational and support roles. Since 2016, as Senior Vice President of Dnata, he oversees the company’s operations for ground handling, cargo and airport hospitality services in the United Arab Emirates. Over the past nine months, he has led dnata’s travel business and its global development. Prior to joining the Emirates Group, Steve Allen spent 16 years working for British Airways in a variety of financial, regional and operational roles.

Dnata provides safe and high quality ground handling, cargo, catering and travel services to more than 300 air carriers in 35 countries.

During the fiscal year 2019/2020, dnata service teams handled 681,000 aircraft, handled 2.9 million tons of cargo, and loaded more than 93 million meals on the aircraft, with the total value of its travel services deals totaling $ 3 billion.
