ABU DHABI, 6 March / WAM / The Judicial Department in Abu Dhabi has completed 160,482 judicial requests remotely, while it has held 103,899 court sessions via visual communication technology, since the visual trial system was activated by 100 per cent in all courts of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, during The period from April 2020 until the end of February 2021, in line with the implementation of preventive measures and the adoption of procedures for the continuity of providing judicial services in light of the Corona pandemic.
The statistics showed that 61,979 cases were registered remotely during the same period, while the number of cases circulated reached 80,303 cases, while the Implementation Department completed 123,422 applications.
The number of cases received by the Public Prosecution reached 51 thousand and 352 cases, and the total of criminal orders reached 13839, referral orders 23,325, while the number of remote investigations was recorded 11,512 investigations, and electronic requests executed 52525, and the number of procedures for the implementation of judgments reached 54,634.
As for the Notary Public and Authentication Department, it completed 90,360 transactions for the notary through visual communication, 39,180 documents, 5,082 transactions to complete marriage contracts, and 1725 transactions of non-Muslim wills.
In the Department of Advocacy and Experts Affairs, more than 31,000 clients have benefited from legal counseling services remotely, and the number of expert sessions held by default reached 3,676 sessions, with a total of 3,461 delegates for experts.
The statistics also showed that the number of transactions completed in the external customer happiness centers reached 129,900 transactions, while the percentage of customer satisfaction with the services provided in the centers reached 81%.
As for translation services in the courts, the number of interpretation sessions reached 64,455, and translation was 2,634, with a total of 20 languages and dialects translated into it.
For his part, Counselor Yusef Saeed Al-Abri, Undersecretary of the Judicial Department in Abu Dhabi, affirmed that the achievements made in the Judicial Department, and the qualitative shift in the provision of judicial and judicial services remotely, came in implementation of the vision of the country’s wise leadership, of the continuous development efforts and the introduction of many legislations and laws to keep pace with developments and accelerating changes. In various fields, in a way that supports the competitiveness of the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and strengthens its position as one of the top five governments in the world.
He explained that the volume of work carried out in the Judicial Department during the Corona pandemic, is based on the package of decisions and development measures taken over the past years, with reliance on the advanced technical infrastructure and the use of the latest technological means with attention to qualifying and training national cadres, in a manner that ensures the provision of services with quality and efficiency.
