Date: March 05, 2021 An official document revealed the true age of the Egyptian artist Youssef Shaaban, who left our world last Saturday, affected by the emerging corona virus (Covid 19).
The personal card of the late artist, whose photo was published by the news site “Media.com”, resolved the controversy over his age at his death, as news sites reported that Yusef Shaban died at the age of 90, but this is contrary to the truth.
The national ID card showed that the artist was born on July 16, 1936, which means that he was not older than 84 years before his death.
Art critic Tariq Al-Shennawi was the first to draw this information from the biography of Youssef Shaaban, explaining this in his article published in the newspaper “Al-Masry Al-Youm”.
Al-Shennawi said: “The reader, Professor Muhammad Al-Sayed Ragab, reminded me that he was a colleague of Al-Tawfiqeya School, and at the same time a neighbor of the great artist Youssef Shaaban, and they often crossed together the streets of Shubra, and that is why he is certain that the great artist was born in 1936, and not as all newspapers have indicated in 1930.” .
He added, “I actually contacted the head of the Actors Syndicate, Dr. Ashraf Zaki, and made sure that we all made a mistake when we indicated that he was over ninety. Unfortunately, the encyclopedia on the internet is full of errors, and I do not exempt myself from surrendering sometimes to that encyclopedia.”
