Globally, the US dollar index rose to its highest level in a week, recording its biggest weekly gain in 6 weeks, as the high yields of US Treasury bonds increased the demand for the US currency.
The euro and the British pound fell, on the back of the strength of the US dollar.
And Bloomberg indicated, that gold prices fell globally with the rise of the dollar, registering its biggest weekly loss since November 2020.
Moreover, the strength of the dollar negatively affected emerging market currencies, as the MSCI EM Index declined by 0.66%, marking its biggest weekly loss since last September.
