Authorities will set up inspection centers at Beijing and Shanghai airports

The Chinese authorities decided to oblige all foreigners coming to it to take an anal swab to detect the Corona virus.

According to the British newspaper “The Times”, Beijing justified this step by saying that the rectal swab was “more accurate” than other examination methods.

Under the new decision, the authorities will set up inspection centers at Beijing and Shanghai airports to examine incoming travelers.

And according to what was reported on Thursday by the “Russia Today” website, the decision met with great rejection, and led to the deepening of the dispute with other countries over a practice described by many as “insulting.”

The Japanese government has already expressed concern about the exposure of its citizens to the “humiliating” measure; While US diplomats also complained. Katsunobu Kato, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, said that he would ask China to change this special testing system, after some Japanese travelers reported suffering from “psychological pain” from the procedure according to “Russia Today”.

As a possible compromise, Lu Hongzhou, a Shanghai-based Chinese doctor, told Chinese state media; The stool sample can be replaced by the rectal swab.

It appears that South Korea has accepted the offer, and Japan is also seeking talks on the issue.

It should be noted that the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention had issued instructions last March, which include the necessity to take a sample of stool from patients, and if this is not possible, then a plastic wire supplied with a cotton ball is inserted into the anus for a distance of 3 to 5 centimeters.
