Because of the “Khadraout load” … the Egyptian Ministry of Immigration: An Egyptian was killed and another Saudi was wounded


Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – An Egyptian citizen was killed and another wounded in a shooting in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Friday, following a dispute over a “vegetable load,” according to a statement by the Egyptian Immigration Ministry.

The statement said that the Egyptian Minister of Immigration, Nabila Makram, contacted the Egyptian embassy and consulate in Riyadh, to follow up on legal details and preliminary investigations regarding the accident.

The ministry’s statement added that preliminary investigations in the Kingdom showed that the cause of the accident was a dispute that occurred between a Saudi citizen and the victim and his nephew, both of whom are from Minya Governorate (Upper Egypt).

According to the statement, the dispute was over the transportation of a load of vegetables, and the Saudi government ended up firing bullets at them. What resulted in the death of the first and the injury of the second.

The statement added that the Saudi authorities arrested a Saudi citizen who shot an Egyptian (Ashri Muhammad Hassan), killing him and wounding his nephew (Hussein), who was transferred to a hospital in Riyadh.

The Egyptian Minister of Immigration offered her condolences to the family of the deceased, and indicated that she is following the process of transferring his body, confirming her confidence in the progress of the investigations and legal procedures in the Kingdom.
