A meeting between the FIFA and representatives of clubs participating in the AFC Champions League


The Emirates Football Association held a coordination meeting with representatives of the clubs participating in the AFC Champions League 2021, Al Wahda, Al Ain, Shabab Al Ahly, and Sharjah. With the aim of identifying the latest preparations for participating in this tournament, which will start from next April with the participation of 40 teams distributed into 10 groups, by five groups for the western region, in addition to five others for the east region.
The meeting was held over two days via video communication technology, with the participation of Mohammed Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Football Association, representatives of the relevant departments, as well as officials of the four teams.
The meeting dealt with aspects of the participation of our clubs in the Asian championship and the requirements set by the continental federation with regard to travel and transportation for clubs that will play outside the country, as well as hosting Sharjah Club for its group matches, and responding to inquiries received from clubs.
Ibn Hazzam emphasized that the meeting comes within the framework of the Football Association’s keenness, headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, to provide all the needs of our clubs and provide support to them to ensure positive results during the matches, indicating that the Football Association will provide administrative and medical facilities for each of the four clubs to be the clubs. A liaison with the AFC, especially on the issue of health protocol and others.
The AFC announced earlier that it had granted Sharjah club the right to host the second group competitions, which include clubs (Sharjah, Iranian Tractor, Pakhtakor, the Uzbek team and the qualifying team, either the Saudi unit or the Iraqi Air Force), while the Al-Ahly Youth Club will play its first group matches in the capital, Riyadh. While Al Ain Club will face in the qualifiers the Iranian Foulad Khuzestan club, the winner of which will play in the fourth group, which includes clubs (Qatari Al-Sadd, Saudi Al-Nasr, and Al-Wehdat Al-Jordan). Its matches will be played in India.
