Today (Wednesday), the Ministry of Health announced the delivery of more than 1,000,000 doses of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine so far through 405 vaccination sites in all regions of the Kingdom.The Ministry will soon begin providing Coronavirus vaccines in community pharmacies for free in the Kingdom. The Ministry signed a strategic partnership agreement with a pharmacy to provide vaccines yesterday (Tuesday), provided that the date for receiving citizens and residents will be announced soon. The partnership is part of the Kingdom’s approved strategic plan to gain full control over the pandemic.

The Food and Drug Authority is currently evaluating a number of anti-Coronavirus vaccines, confirming readiness for the rapid expansion of the vaccination process in various regions of Saudi Arabia, which is proceeding at a high rate.

The Ministry stated that the vaccines currently approved in Saudi Arabia or those currently being evaluated are licensed for use from those over the age of 16 or 18 years. She indicated that their appointments are scheduled according to the “priority categories” approved in the “national strategy for immunization from the emerging corona virus.”

The Ministry allowed the submission of dates for the “second dose” of the Corona vaccine for those wishing to have their doses rescheduled through the Sehaty app, and the directive was also directed to link the acceptance of participants in the Hajj season to receiving the vaccine against the Corona virus that causes “Covid-19” disease, and considering it the main condition for participation.

Saudi Arabia began the Corona vaccination campaign on December 17, 2020, after the Food and Drug Authority approved the registration of the “Pfizer-Biontech” vaccine, and priority was given to three categories: people over the age of 65, those suffering from chronic diseases, and those whose work nature requires Being on the front lines to confront the epidemic, as workers in the health sector.
