The Communications and Information Technology Commission announced today, the results of the accreditation of registration agents to provide Saudi domain name registration services, which resulted in the accreditation of: the Arab Internet and Communications Services Company (STCs), Noor Internet Company, Sahara Network Company Ltd., Raqmiyat Net for Information Technology, and Hussaba Technology for Information Technology as authorized agents to register Saudi domain names after fulfilling the approved requirements and regulations.

The authority clarified that the accreditation of: Raqmiyat Net for Information Technology and Technology Computer for Information Technology came within the qualification process launched earlier in partnership with the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises “Monshaat”; To support and enable a number of small and medium enterprises and to accredit them as registration agents for Saudi domain names.

This step comes as part of the authority’s efforts to develop the Saudi domain name system in line with the accelerated steps in the digital transformation of the governmental and private business environment in the Kingdom, and the promotion of investment in the field of hosting and electronic services, in addition to the localization of expertise specialized in Internet services and domain names, and creating a market for domain names. Saudi Arabia and its related services, enhancing the IT sector’s contribution to the domestic product, in addition to providing multiple options for the registrant through the ability to choose the appropriate registration agent based on the services, their quality, price, and the level of technical support services.

The authority indicated that accredited registration agents began to provide registration services for Saudi domain names within the next two weeks, and these services include: registering domain names, amending registration information, and marketing Saudi domain names, in addition to providing technical support to customers, providing electronic payment channels, in addition to the possibility Providing additional services such as: (hosting – email – electronic stores).

The Authority renewed its call for all current registrants – except for government agencies – to initiate the transfer of their Saudi domain names to one of the approved registration agents before the end of December of the current year 2021 AD, in order to avoid canceling the registration after the end of that period, indicating that the transfer mechanism can be viewed through Visit the website of the Authority’s Saudi Center for Network Information via the following link: (www.nic.sa).
