The Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, led by Saudi Arabia, announced, on Saturday, that it had countered a ballistic attack launched by the Houthi militia against Riyadh.
The coalition issued a statement saying that it had destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The Houthi militia’s attempt to target Riyadh with a ballistic missile is not the first. Friday evening, the coalition announced the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist militia towards Saudi Arabia.
The spokesman for the coalition forces, Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, said: “The joint coalition forces were able to intercept and destroy a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Saudi Arabia, in a systematic and deliberate manner to target civilians.”
The Houthi militia is still practicing its hostile and terrorist attempts against the Kingdom, which the coalition is addressing by intercepting and destroying a number of drones inside Yemeni territory.
Colonel Al-Maliki accused the Houthi militia of continuing to violate international humanitarian law by launching ballistic missiles and their indiscriminate fall on civilians, as well as population centers that threaten the lives of hundreds of civilians.
Brigadier General Al-Maliki stressed that the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition is taking the necessary measures to neutralize and destroy the specific capabilities of the terrorist militia, to protect civilians and civilian objects in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
