Today, Thursday, Qatar re-imposed a set of restrictions on educational, entertainment and commercial activities, including closing indoor swimming pools and entertainment venues and limiting the capacity of restaurants.

Other Gulf countries tightened restrictions recently to limit the spread of the Corona virus, with the increase in the number of infections they are witnessing.

Today, Qatar announced the registration of 407 new cases of Coronavirus. And the number of daily cases has been on the rise steadily since its decline in December to 117 in one day.

“The State of Qatar has approved a four-level plan to re-impose restrictions due to the Corona pandemic, which is a preemptive step to prevent a second wave of the epidemic and prevent the spread of the new strain in the country,” the government media office said.

The Qatari Ministry of Health said on Twitter that the markets will now operate at half their capacity, and it will also prohibit the holding of weddings outside the home, so that their attendance is limited to relatives only, and care homes will operate with a 30 percent capacity.

And gatherings in open places, such as gardens, will be limited to 15 people, while indoor gatherings will not exceed five people only.

Boat rental has been banned and the maximum capacity for private boats is limited to fifteen passengers.

Kuwait had said yesterday, Wednesday, that it would stop the entry of non-citizens for two weeks, starting from the seventh of February, after the increase in Corona injuries in it.

Also this week, Saudi Arabia banned entry to the Kingdom from 20 countries, except for Saudi citizens, diplomats, doctors and their families.
