Palestine supports Saudi Arabia’s position rejecting the US report on Khashoggi

The Palestinian leadership announced, on Sunday, that it stands with Saudi Arabia in “facing any challenges that try to undermine its stability and security.”

“The Palestinian leadership, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, stands with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of any challenges that try to undermine its stability and security, and any external attempts to interfere in its internal affairs,” the Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee, Major General Jibril Rajoub, said in a statement. .

Rajoub added, “We affirm our support for the statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and our confidence in the Saudi judiciary.”

The Palestinian position comes in response to the US intelligence report on the Khashoggi killing, which carried a set of conclusions and flimsy assumptions about responsibility for that incident that took place in 2018.

The American report sparked angry official and popular reactions, as Gulf, Arab and Islamic reactions continued to reject the flimsy conclusions it contained.

On Friday, Saudi Arabia announced its categorical rejection of the report submitted to Congress on Khashoggi’s murder.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a statement, that “the Saudi government categorically rejects the abusive and incorrect conclusions contained in the report about the Kingdom’s leadership and cannot be accepted in any way, and that the report included a set of information and other incorrect conclusions.”
