Polish champions Legia Warsaw announced on Saturday evening that it has signed promising Uzbek striker Jasur Yakhchiboyev.

Yakhchiboyev signed a contract extending for two and a half seasons with Legia Warsaw, with the possibility of an extension for an additional period.

Jakhchiboyev, 23, joined Legia Warsaw, a 14-time Polish League title winner, from Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan.

Last season, Yakhchiboyev played on loan to Shakhtyur Soligorsk and contributed to the team’s crowning of the Belarusian League title.

“Last year I played as a striker in Belarus, I feel very comfortable in this role, I prefer attacking style in football,” Yakhchiboyev told the official website of Legia Warsaw.

“I saw a lot about Legia … I know the club participated in the Champions League, there are great fans and a great atmosphere,” he added.

According to the official website of the AFC, Yakhchiboyev won the AFC U-23 Championship with Uzbekistan in 2018 and since then has represented the first Uzbek national team three times.
