In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, the Iraqi foreign minister said that the first axis of the talks “focused on bilateral relations between the two countries and how to develop them (…) and we discussed joint work in various fields, whether economic, energy, banking or investment, while the other axes were about Study the regional situation and its impact on the internal situation in Iraq, Saudi Arabia or the regional environment, in addition to regional tensions, how to deal with them, and how to set the first steps to manage these crises. Hussein explained that the relations between his country and the Kingdom “were punctuated by gaps, but in recent years these gaps have been bridged and many bridges built, as these visits are evidence that this relationship has developed.” There are also tangible things, which are relations in the interest of the two countries, two peoples and the region, and our assessment of the relationship is that it is in a state of progress and development.
