Gulf News “Carrefour” launches a competition for the best design for its reusable bags

Carrefour, owned and managed by Majid Al Futtaim in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has launched a competition for the best design of reusable bags under the slogan “Carrefour is proud of its Bahraini character.” The winning design will be printed on the reusable bags, for requests through the Carrefour app, in addition to the winner being awarded a prize of BD 100.

Participants in the competition must use the special hashtag, to submit a single design that embodies the Bahraini culture, lifestyle, identity, landmarks and areas of Bahrain, through the official Carrefour Bahrain sites on social media.

Jerome Akl, Director of Carrefour Bahrain at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said: “This competition confirms that we are in Carrefour Bahrain, from you and to you, and we are proud of the Bahraini identity that brings us closer to the Bahraini community by working with local Bahraini suppliers and partners and Bahraini farmers to provide the best range of products and services to help Our customers and support the local economy. Majid Al Futtaim is making great efforts to limit the use of single-use plastics, with the aim of disposing of plastic in all Carrefour branches by 2025. In addition, we have started from January 2021 to deliver all our orders through the Carrefour app in reusable bags for free, to encourage customers “To use the reusable bags while shopping at Carrefour branches or anywhere else.”

The reusable bags design competition, under the slogan ‘Carrefour is proud of its Bahraini character’, runs from January 13 to February 11, and the winner will be chosen by Carrefour Bahrain management, and the name of the winner will be announced on the official social networking sites on February 18th.
