Mouloudia Algeria tied at home against Esperance of Tunisia with a goal for each of them in the second round matches of the African Champions League group stage for the benefit of Zamalek.
Bilal Ben Saha opened the scoring for MCA in the 27th minute against his previous team, while Abdel Raouf Bin Ghaith equalized in the 60th minute.
Esperance maintained the top of the group with 4 points after the end of the second round of the group, while Mouloudia Algeria is in second place with two points on goal difference from Zamalek, and Senegalese Tongeth is bottom with one point.
The first half began with a surprise attack for Esperance, and William Tuguri almost scored early for the guests, but he failed to receive the cross in front of the empty goal.
Mouloudia Algeria had possession of the ball, but without real danger, to the Esperance goalkeeper Farouk Ben Mostafa’s goal.
In the 27th minute, Bilal bin Saada received a pass inside the Esperance penalty area and shot his left hand to the right of Farouk bin Mustafa to advance to the owners of the land in the net of his old team.
In the second half, Esperance intensified its attacks in search of an equalizer, and in the 60th minute Abdel Raouf Bin Ghaith managed to score a tie for the guests after taking advantage of Fosseni Coulibaly’s pass inside the penalty area and struck the ball above the goalkeeper of Mouloudia Algeria.
Mouloudia attacked Algeria completely after the draw in order to snatch match points while Esperance relied on counter-attacks.
The tie was decided against MCA and Esperance, to ignite the group’s accounts in the upcoming matches.
Esperance will host the Zamalek team on Saturday, March 6, in the third round, before arriving in Cairo on March 16th.
Meanwhile, Mouloudia Algeria will host Senegalese Toungith on March 5th before hosting it in Algeria on March 16th.
