The spacecraft, also called “Percy as an acronym,” arrived at the Red Planet on Thursday. Some pictures were posted on Twitter shortly after the landing, but NASA released the high-resolution version yesterday (Tuesday) on its website.
The images and scenes show the details of the Martian surface as it has never appeared before, as we can see rocks and debris on it, according to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
In one of the snapshots, the sky appears above the surface of Mars as well, in a unique scene.
This is the first mission that “NASA has gathered and stored on Mars rocks and dust.”
The goal of Perseverance is to search for signs of ancient life on Mars and to pave the way for man’s eventual exploration of the planet.
On Monday, NASA released a stunning new video of the spacecraft entering and landing on Mars, as well as the first audio recordings of sounds coming from the planet.
