During a meeting in Kuwait yesterday (Tuesday), Cairo and Doha laid down the mechanisms and procedures for the future phase, after the Al-Ula summit statement issued on the fifth of last January. In their first meeting, two official delegations from Egypt and Qatar welcomed the measures taken by both countries after signing the Al-Ula statement, as a step on the path of building confidence between the two brotherly countries.The meeting discussed the necessary means and measures to be taken to enhance the joint work process and bilateral relations between the two countries. The two sides expressed their appreciation to Saudi Arabia for hosting the last Gulf summit, which culminated in the issuance of the Al-Ula statement. They thanked Kuwait for hosting the first meeting between them, and they expressed appreciation to the Emir of the country, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for the efforts his country had led to heal the rift and its keenness to promote joint Arab action.
During the Al-Ula summit that was held in Saudi Arabia last month, the Gulf Cooperation Council reached an agreement to restore cohesion between its countries.
