BNP Paribas appoints Amin Al-Selami as CEO, Middle East and Africa


BNP Paribas has appointed Amin bin Hajj Al-Salami as CEO for the Middle East and Africa, succeeding Jack Michel and under the direction of Yannick Young, Head of Global Banking Services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Jacques Michel has been appointed Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors in the Middle East and Africa Region under the direction of Alain Papias, Chairman of the Board of Commercial and Institutional Banking. Both Amin and Jack will work from the bank’s regional headquarters in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

It is worth noting that Amin has extensive experience in global markets and sustainable finance, and we are fully confident that he will be able to continue the bank’s global leadership in the region, especially in the field of energy transition financing. ”

Amin bin Hajj Al-Salami will oversee the bank’s operations in seven countries in the Middle East and Africa that have more than 600 employees.

Amin joined the bank 32 years ago, during which time he held many leadership positions in Paris, New York, London and Tokyo.
