The head of the Southern Transitional Council in Yemen, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, revealed during an exclusive interview with RT today, Tuesday, that it is possible to normalize relations with Israel.
Al-Zubaidi said that normalization with Israel is an issue when we have a state and a capital belonging to the Arab south.
He explained that there are no contacts with Israel and stated that they have blessed some countries’ normalization of relations with Tel Aviv, noting that there are no efforts now in this regard.
And he indicated that if a sovereign state becomes for them and its capital is Aden, then it is their right to offer normalization with Israel, stressing that it is their sovereign right.
On the other hand, he stressed that his visit to Moscow was positive, adding that it discussed most of the files with the Russian side, especially the activation of the southern issue at the global level, international institutions, the Security Council and the United Nations to ensure that the people of the South have the right to self-determination.
He stated that the issue of the south is the key to the solution to the Yemeni crisis, noting that without solving the issue of the south, there is no solution for Yemen and the crisis in the country.
He explained that the Riyadh Agreement came as a necessity and that they participated in the equity government to get out of the crisis and in order for them to have a negotiating delegation within the government framework representing the Southern Transitional Council.
Aidaroos stressed that it is necessary to build institutions in the south, and that they need a transitional phase to sit at the negotiating table.
Regarding the military aspect of the Riyadh Agreement, he stated that the military aspect requires more understanding with President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi regarding the military and security leaderships at the level of the Ministries of Defense and Interior to accommodate the units of the Southern Council.
He made clear that they would maintain their forces and that they would remain in a state of agreement with the legitimate government.
