The percentage of Saudization (the percentage of Saudis out of total employment) in seven economic activities in the Saudi private sector exceeded 50 percent by the end of the third quarter of last year 2020.
According to the analysis of the reports unit in Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper based on official data, the seven economic activities are financial activities and insurance activities with a localization rate of 83.6%, public administration, defense and compulsory social security 71.9%, and activities of foreign organizations and bodies 71.5%.
This is in addition to mining and quarrying activity 63.2%, education 52.9%, information and communication 50.7%, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supplies, with a localization rate of 50.6%.
On the other hand, the sectors of agriculture, forestry, fishing, construction, administrative and support services activities, and activities of the least settled households came at 15.5 percent, 13.5 percent, 12 percent and 11.4 percent, respectively.
It is meant by workers in the private sector, that they are participants at work who are subject to the laws and regulations of social insurance.
The Social Security Corporation classifies professions in the private sector into 21 economic activities: agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining and quarrying, with a localization rate of 15.5 percent, manufacturing industries, 63.2 percent, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supplies 50.6 percent.
This is in addition to water supply and sewage activities, waste management and treatment 26.5 percent, construction 13.5 percent, wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles 23.4 percent, transportation and storage 25.3 percent, and accommodation and food service activities 20.2 percent.
