The Samsung Galaxy S21 is expected to be one of the best phones for 2021 and it is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S20, and here are the new features and those that were abandoned in the new model and a comparison between the two phones.
Price comparison of Samsung Galaxy S21 and S20
The S20 came with 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, at a price of $ 999 (3200 SAR), and in some areas, only the 4G version was available.
It seems that the S21 comes at lower prices, as it costs $ 799 and you get 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, and there is no 4G version, and of course, the S21 is still expensive, but it is less than its predecessor.
Comparison of design
The S21 does not come with a huge redesign, but the only visible difference is the camera unit with a slightly different appearance, and there is a second change that the pictures do not show, which is the difference between the material used in the back, where the S20 comes with a glass back, and the back of the S21 is made of Glasstic , Or plastic that is intended to be closer to glass, and this material is cheaper but it does not look luxurious like glass, except that it is more durable.
Apart from those updates, both phones come with USB-C ports, in addition to the power button and volume buttons installed on the sides of the phones, but there is no 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The S20 was available in three colors: blue, pink and gray, while the S21 also came in white, purple, and a slightly different type of pink.
A comparison between the two phones’ screens
Monitor Samsung Galaxy S21 It is actually a lower version of the S20, and both phones have 6.2-inch screens, the camera looks like a hole at the top, 120Hz refresh rates, HDR10 + and a fingerprint location on the screen, however, the S21 has a lower resolution than the S20.
And while the Samsung Galaxy S20’s screen resolution was 1440 x 3200, or Quad HD, the Galaxy S21 is only 1080 x 2400, or Full HD +.
On paper, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with identical cameras to the S20, with a 12-megapixel main unit, in addition to a 64-megapixel telephoto and a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, the sensors and lenses are similar, and both phones also feature 10-megapixel front cameras.
On the other hand, the changes with the S21 come via the camera modes as it brought some upgrades to those that we saw in the S20, especially when shooting video, as it allows you to record video from all three rear lenses simultaneously, and you can move between them when you want, and there is also Vlogger View, where you can record video from the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
The new model also witnessed an improvement in artificial intelligence and intense focus when recording slow in order to take great pictures, and unless you like the new camera modes or do not find them attractive, you may not find the photography experience with the Samsung Galaxy S21 different from the S20.
Features and specifications
In terms of software, the Samsung Galaxy S20 came with Android 10 operating system, but the S21 comes with Android 11, however, both of them have one user interface from Samsung.
As for the processor, the S20 uses the Exynos 990 processor in Europe and Asia, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 elsewhere, the S21 uses the Exynos 2100 in Europe and Asia and the Snapdragon 888 elsewhere.
Finally, both versions are roughly equal in terms of processing power and battery efficiency.
