DUBAI (Reuters) – Saudi Al-Hadath TV reported on its Twitter page that the kingdom-led coalition fighting the Yemeni Houthi movement had foiled a Houthi attack on the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Saturday.
The television quoted the coalition as saying, “It intercepted and destroyed a hostile air target towards the city of Riyadh.”
Since 2015, the coalition has been fighting the Houthi movement in Yemen, which has launched cross-border attacks with missiles and drones targeting Saudi cities.
A Houthi spokesman later denied on Twitter on Saturday that the group had carried out any operations against the coalition in the past 24 hours.
