The International Monetary Fund urges continued financial and monetary support to the economies | latest news

The International Monetary Fund has urged countries to continue their strong financial and monetary support efforts to help their economies in light of what it says is “a great deal of uncertainty” about the risks posed by a new rise in Covid-19 infections and the emergence of new strains.

“The global economy is at a critical juncture … there is still a great deal of uncertainty,” IMF spokesman Jerry Rice told reporters during an online briefing.

He added that the fund will issue an updated forecast for the global economy on January 26 that takes into account the latest developments, such as finding vaccines to prevent Covid-19 and initiating their use and stimulus measures.
New in the US and Japan.
