The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai, “Dubai Tourism”, announced the temporary suspension of entertainment activities in hotel establishments and restaurants in the emirate as of Thursday, January 21, 2021, until further notice.
In a circular directed to owners and managers of hotel establishments and restaurants in the emirate of Dubai, the department stated that the decision comes as part of its efforts to ensure that all stakeholders in the tourism sector comply with the application of all precautionary measures and preventive measures to address the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
She said that the decision also came following the circular issued by the department on December 23, 2020, regarding a warning of the commitment of hotel establishments to the precautionary measures and preventive measures to address the “Covid-19” pandemic.
The department added in the circular that through the field inspection visits to the department, an increase in the number of violations during the establishment of recreational activities has been observed.
The department said that it will continuously assess the new situation with the health authorities, noting the cooperation and effort of the main partners to serve the public good and protect the safety and health of society.
