Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Head of the Government Relations Department in Sharjah met with Fernando Luislimo Saiqriga, the Ambassador of Brazil to the State, and discussed with him during a meeting the expansion of cultural, academic and sporting partnerships between the emirate and Brazilian cities, and he also accompanied him on a tour organized by the department to the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex. And the “House of Wisdom” that provides a new understanding of knowledge and social interaction.
The two sides discussed opportunities to establish an institute of Brazilian culture in Sharjah, to allow the people of the emirate to get acquainted with the Portuguese language and closely get acquainted with the Latin culture.
The two sides agreed to hold coordination meetings to discuss the academic partnership between the University of Sharjah and the American University of Sharjah, and between the Federal University of “Amazonas” in Brazil, which is the oldest university in Brazil, and one of the largest universities in the northern region of the country.
They also discussed the development of cooperation in the sports field, especially since Brazil has a long and long history, especially in football, as coordination will take place between Sharjah Sports Club and the Brazilian Morumbi Stadium, which is the second largest stadium in Brazil.
During the Brazilian ambassador’s tour of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex, in the presence of Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex, presented an overview of the Society’s vision and objectives.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi accompanied the Brazilian ambassador on a visit to the “House of Wisdom.” Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Head of the Government Relations Department in Sharjah said: “The Emirate of Sharjah has strong historical ties with Brazilian cities in many vital sectors, foremost among which are knowledge, culture and innovation in addition to the economic sectors, as the two sides began long years ago to extend bridges of cultural and social communication between them. And building economic partnerships ».
For his part, the Brazilian ambassador to the country expressed his admiration for the scientific, cultural and technological development witnessed by the Emirate of Sharjah, and the price of the emirate’s efforts and its role in promoting cultural mobility in the region, and opening communication channels with various countries of the world.
