On the importance of reconciliation with Qatar, noting that “a Saudi technical team is in Doha to open the embassy within days.”
Regarding Iran, the Saudi minister spoke, saying, “Our hand is extended for peace with Iran, but it does not abide by its agreements,” considering that its calls for dialogue are “useless, and aim to procrastinate and escape from its crises,” calling on the Iranian regime to change its ideas and focus on the prosperity of its people.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan attributed the weakness of previous agreements with Iran to “lack of coordination with the countries of the region,” adding, “European countries understand that the previous agreement with Iran contains deficiencies, and we will consult with America about the agreement so that it has a strong basis.”
Regarding the Yemeni file, he stated that “(the Riyadh Agreement) is the building block for a political solution and a comprehensive settlement to the Yemeni crisis, and if the Houthis decide that the interest of Yemen is the most important, it will facilitate reaching a solution.” He continued by saying, “The Biden administration will find that our goals are common regarding the situation in Yemen,” indicating The designation of the Houthis as a terrorist organization by Washington is “deserved.”
The Saudi Foreign Minister stressed that «the stability of Iraq is an essential element for the stability of the region and Arab security, and the Al-Kazimi government is carrying out strong work to build Iraqi institutions», noting that Riyadh and Baghdad have “opportunities for integration, and there is continuous coordination between them, both on the security and the economy,” stressing Saudi Arabia’s keenness to “increase economic interdependence With Iraq ».
On Syria, he renewed Saudi Arabia’s firm position on the Syrian crisis, which is “to support efforts to reach a peaceful solution.”
Regarding the Lebanese issue, Prince Faisal bin Farhan believes that “Lebanon has the ingredients for success, but it needs political reform and the abandonment of (Hezbollah) militias” in order to flourish.
