Today, Wednesday, the Saudi Ministry of Health announced that it had recorded 175 new infections with the Coronavirus, in a continuous gradual increase in this indicator for the fifth day of the year.

The Ministry stated that the general number of confirmed infections with the emerging coronavirus that causes “Covid-19” disease has increased during the past 24 hours, by 175 cases, bringing the total number of infections recorded in the country to the level of 364,271, including 1954 active cases and 307 critical cases.

The index of daily infections with the Coronavirus in Saudi Arabia during recent weeks witnessed a significant decrease, but it increased slightly during the past five days, as it reached on January 8, 97 cases, on January 9, 110, on January 10, 117, on January 11, 140, and on January 12, 147 After this outcome crossed the 4 thousand threshold in the summer of 2020.

The Ministry reported that 4 new deaths were reported due to the disease, bringing the death toll from the pandemic in Saudi Arabia to 6,304.

The daily death index is relatively stable after it had decreased significantly previously, and on January 8 it reached 4 cases, and on January 9 it also reached 4, while on January 10, 5 deaths were recorded, on January 11 4, and on January 12 5.

The Ministry also stated that the number of people recovering from “COVID-19” has reached 356,013 people, after 156 new cures were recorded.

On December 17th, Saudi Arabia launched a mass vaccination campaign for the Kingdom’s population against Coronavirus infection, with a vaccine developed by the American “Pfizer” and the German “Biontech” company.
