Samsung’s heir was sentenced to prison in a corruption case

The heir of the Samsung empire, Lee Jae Young, has been sentenced again to prison in a reopened corruption case, South Korean media reported.
Lee was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison by the Seoul High Court, according to South Korean radio and television stations and the South Korean national news agency “Yonhap” on Monday. The case is linked to a corruption scandal surrounding former South Korean President Park Geun-hye.

The rumor that Samsung has paid large sums to companies owned by a close friend of Buck is controversial.

Lee was already sentenced to 5 years in prison for corruption in 2017 and a year later, his sentence was commuted to probation, before the trial resumed at a later time.
