Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 870 processor with support for fifth generation communication technology


Qualcomm announced its latest 5G support processors, “Snapdragon 870”, which is an updated version of last year’s flagship Snapdragon 865 processor.

The new processor comes with a faster performance speed than its predecessor and is based on 7 nm manufacturing technology; And it is considered an additional option in the fifth generation processor market, similar to the latest high-end processors of the company Snapdragon 888 built with a 5 nm manufacturing technology The fact that the latter supports a limited class of the leading Android phones.

In terms of compatible graphics, the Snapdragon 870 supports the Adreno 650 and X55 5G modems used in the 865 version; With a slight upgrade over the 3.2GHz frequency.

Qualcomm explained that the first phones with the new processor will be launched in the first quarter of this year 2021 by OnePlus, Motorola, Huawei and Xiaomi.
