Today (Saturday), swarms of desert locust swarms over the farms of villages in the western Sabya governorate in the Jazan region.
Videos circulated showed groups of locusts during their invasion of separate areas of Sabya, and their extensive spread over green areas and farms and on the international road west of the governorate, amid demands by the concerned authorities to quickly combat them before inflicting more damage.
Citizens indicated that the attacks of locust swarms are expected to increase during the coming period, due to the recent rains in the Jizan region.
